Amazon: The Full Story — From a Garage to Running the Internet

On October 20th, 2025, one empty entry in one database in Virginia made half the internet stumble — Snapchat, banks, games, doorbells. All of it ran on Amazon. Twenty-five years earlier, the same company was worth $5.97 a share and analysts said it would run out of cash. This is the full story of Amazon: Jeff Bezos's "regret minimization framework", a garage with desks made from doors, a bell that rang on every order, Get Big Fast, the dot-com crash and the loan that kept the lights on, the flywheel, AWS — the side project that ate the internet — Prime, Kindle, the Fire Phone flop that became Alexa, the diaper war, Kiva robots, Whole Foods, the pandemic and the first union, Day 2, AI and a $3 trillion company. Is Amazon still in "Day 1" — or already in "Day 2"? Tell us in the comments.
